Their Career

Anesthesiologists is a very skilled career so they must get paid a lot. Well they are the highest paid on average in the medical field. They make on average $187,199 annually, so paying off their college will be much easier. The job market for an anesthesiologist is always doing well because not many people posses the skill and knowledge on the career to there is always a high demand for these professionals. The only problem could be that they might have to move where ever is willing to pay the most or where ever they are needed, Like states with low populations don't have anesthesiologists and are willing to put a lot out for some to come from all over the country to work in their hospitals. Some people are anesthesiologist's assistant which can be what they are doing before they become an actual anesthesiologist and might be something they partake in as a career or just in college to learn what to do and get their licence. I think this is a promising career and I have a high interest in  perusing a path that may lead me to success.

Schooling

The process of school is hard and long one. They must go to school for at least 12 years, this is including residents and medical school. The good news is that many schools offer the training for it. Most public colleges and private schools known for their medical classes are where most professionals go. The life of an pre-anesthesiologist is very hectic because of all the schooling they go through, They must possess many skills like advanced math, very in depth understanding of biology and chemistry. They must be able to write, and explain to people what they are doing and why. The skills of leadership and being able to handle high stress environments to problem solve. Critical thinking and problem solving like if there was to be a situation where someone needed help fast. They also need very fine motor skills and steady hands because they must be very careful and precise when giving medicine and where it is being induced. If they go away from home they will live in a dorm or apartment which may be their live depending on what they do for residents and where they go. Most schools have financial aid, scholarships, and offer school loans to pay for college.

The Equipment

In order to get the job done it takes special tools. The anesthesiologist has a special machine just for them. It is also called Boyle's Machine, the purpose is to keep administering anesthesia, oxygen, nitrous  oxide, or any other drug they gave to the patient to keep away the pain. It also keeps track of how the patient is doing and how their body is reacting. They also have other tools which are usually kept on their machine because it doubles as a kart! Laryngoscopy handles with Macintosh or Miller blades are used to view the vocal cords and larynx. The purpose is to make an opening to give anesthesia. They also use a devise called a Glidescope. It has a camera on the end which is used to be more accurate when entering through the trachea and can be used to remove an substance blocking air movement and make sure the patient is doing well and see if there are any problems. The most common equipment is the needle and their medicine. Which will be stabbed into the patient at nerve endings to numb the pain.

An Anesthesiologist

The job of an anesthesiologist is to give people anesthesia or some other drug to ensure the patient will feel no pain or at least reduce the pain. As the patient undergoes surgery it is their job to make sure all their vitals are in check and to keep administering doses if they need it, Since they don't deal with surgery every waking moment of every waking day, they also help individuals with cancer or other diseases deal with pain they are feeling on a daily basis to make life tolerable. Since they have a doctorate they also have the skills to see patients and diagnose them but this is uncommon unless the hospital is running low on staff.
